Well, the Doctor has a wife and child, as was written into the story a couple of years ago, which would suggest it's a man.
That James Bond code name thing sounds so cringey and ridiculous. Just fucking keep the character how it was written. Just a shame that people seem to find the fact he's white and a man so offensive in today's world. What a cunt Ian Fleming must have been....

I haven't ever bothered with dr who, but my understanding of it is that it's a character called 'the doctor' who dies randomly and sort of re-spawns in a totally different body. I don't get why that can't be a woman.
Bond is described in the books as looking like heavy Carmichael. Who was white.
Although there have been nurmurings that studios may use the reasoning that 'james bond' is actually just a code name for their best agent to get around that

The BBC demonstrating its complete lack of competence even with its own proprietary shows.
The revamped Top Gear with Chris Evans was hyped to the rafters. Everybody knew it was dead in the water before it even aired because it had Chris Evans in it.
And now this. With a woman in the lead role it isn't Doctor Who, it's something else. It's like having a female James Bond.
The BBC should be put out of its misery and shut down.

I still love the way the BBC advertise this show as some sort of mega event and Blue Peter abd Newsround get hard-on's over it. The plan fact is that it is absolute fucking drivel of the highest order and should, at best, be on CBBC at 5pm.
